White Wines
Something for Everyone…
1. Santa Alicia Reserve Chardonnay (Chile) £11.95
Loads of sun-drenched fruit with aromas of pineapple and pink grapefruit backed up with a steely spine of amazing elegance. Sheer perfection with poached salmon fillet or a bowl of seafood chowder.
2. Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio (Australia) £11.95
If Chardonnay is a little bit too rich for your taste then plump for this wonderfully refreshing Pinot Grigio from down under. This is a sensational glass of mellow yellow to enjoy while sitting by the front window watching a Castlewellan day go by!
3. Masia J Sauvignon Blanc (Spain) £11.95
Astonishingly vibrant Sauvignon, so typical of the amazing quality of the new wave of Spanish whites. Expect searing minerality with delicious notes of asparagus, gooseberry and the faintest touch of spearmint. Lush with our fresh prawn salad!
Cutting Edge Classics…
4. Crane Lake GTR (USA) £13.45
Mind-bogglingly different and certainly one for the adventurous. Expect amazing aromas of rose petals, lychees and Turkish delight with hints of peach and ginger. Perfect with our famous Tiger Prawns or Oriental Chicken Stir Fry.
5. Heartland “Stickleback” White (Australia) £13.95
Zingy and zesty with loads of punchy lime citrus fruit. If Radox made wine it would taste like this phenomenal effort! The perfect match for our Breaded Scampi.
6. Pellehaut White (France) £15.95
The legendary wine also known as Ampelomerhyx. An absolutely exquisite blend from the sun drenched south of France. A masterpiece that exhibits stunning aromas of buttered toast, mango and apricot. This is sublime with our cod dishes, or a special Sunday treat with turkey and ham!
Something Special…
7. Chateau Bauduc Sauvignon Blanc (France) £17.95
This stuff is so good, and made in such limited quantities, that the sole buyers for this wine in England are Gordon Ramsay and Rick Stein, who both stock it as a house wine in their restaurants. Intense, zesty and elegant, this is amazing when paired with our Pan Flashed Chicken Fillet dish.
8. King’s Favour Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) £20.95
Blisteringly brilliant Kiwi Sauvignon by Brent Marris, one of New Zealand’s most passionate winemakers. The intensity and pungency of the core fruit is phenomenal – tropical fruit salad, hints of cut grass and herbaceous undergrowth, red berry...a spectacular match with Chicken Cici and every one of our fish dishes!
